The Gathering of Solitude

Forty-two poems written between Tehran and the island — on exile, womanhood, the cities that taught the body how to disappear, and the slow work of finding a voice again.

This is not a book meant to comfort. It is a book meant to be entered.

Here, loneliness is not an emotion but a landscape.

About the book

The Gathering of Solitude is the English edition of Nasrina Rezaei’s Persian collection (Sadeh, 2025). The poems were written across different years and cities, yet each returns to a single center: the inner geography of a woman walking through silence, depth and self-recognition. Tehran under smoke and quarantine, the suitcase and the runway, a mother’s photograph, an island in the Mediterranean — the book moves from the voice that failed to the crossing of the dark.

From the author’s note:

This collection was written across different years and cities, yet each poem returns to a single center— the inner geography of a woman walking through silence, depth, and self-recognition.

The book is dedicated “for the women I have been, and the women I am becoming,” and, like each of her books, it ends with a poem that carries her name.
